We’re going to the HU Travelers Meeting CanWest 2025
We’ve done it before, and we’ll do it again! We’re super excited to be presenting at the Horizons Unlimited Traveler’s Meeting CanWest on 10th-13th July in beautiful Nakusp. (We, as in Maria and yours truly, Skunk.)
And this year is extra special, because it’s the 25th Anniversary of these meetings! That’s a quarter of a century of travel inspiration! HU Meetings are famous for their relaxed atmosphere among like-minded souls. A weekend of tips and tricks, travel stories and how-to workshops; of riding skill challenges, offroad training, camping, and a beer or three. All travelers are welcome, no matter how many wheels, and it’s always heaps of fun to meander the grounds and admire the set-ups, taking note of all the ideas and possibilities.
And did I mention extra special? Well, this year the CanWest event is extra extra special for us, because Sam Manicom, the bloke whose fault it is that we’ve led a life interrupted by travel shenanigans. After all, it was he, who inspired Maria and Aidan to set off on two wheels in the first place. You can imagine, we’re super excited to spend some time with Sam, who is a bit of a legend in the moto travel world.
There are dozens of wonderful presenters, too many to list here. It’s shaping up to be a fantastic event, and I cannot wait!
Oh, and this year Maria has signed up to the Mini-HUMM, a mini version of the HU Mountain Madness navigation challenge. That should be interesting… Definitely a high likelihood of shiny-side-down incident! I’ll report back afterwards.
